# Corrections Policy

We publish corrections. We do not quietly delete or rewrite published work to make an error disappear.

How to request a correction

Email editorial@nigeriawire.news with:

• the URL of the article
• the specific statement you believe is wrong
• what the correct information is, and a source if you have one

What we do

• **Acknowledgement** within two business days.
• **Decision** within five business days of acknowledgement.
• If we got something wrong, we correct the article and append a dated correction note explaining what changed. The note stays on the article permanently.
• For a substantive factual error, the correction note appears at the top of the article. For a typographical or formatting fix, at the foot.
• If we decide no correction is warranted, we tell you why.

Press releases

Press releases are the statements of the organisation that submitted them, not our reporting. If a press release contains a factual error, we will pass your request to the submitting organisation and, where the claim is materially misleading, we will append a note or remove the item. We do not edit a company's statement on its behalf without its involvement.

Removal requests

We do not remove accurate, lawfully published material on request. Where the law gives you a right to erasure, see our privacy policy.
